Embracing Every Voice: Together in Faith emphasizes inclusivity, community, and the importance of every Deaf individual, coming together to grow in faith and support one another. As a Deaf ministry leader, it reflects the idea that every voice matters in the body of Christ, maintaining a sense of compassion and unity within the Deaf church family. The responsibilities vary depending on the needs from the Deaf in the ministry.
Ministry Highlights & Impact
Meaningful moments and accomplishments in Deaf ministry during the past year (have largely centered on increased accessibility through ASL interpretation, empowerment of Deaf co-leaders, community support with the members, and the creation of essential resources in American Sign Language (ASL) to continue with the Gospel during Bible Study classes.
Growth & Development in Your Ministry Area
The Deaf Ministry had few highlights - the Deaf West Camp trip back in June. Plus, we have improved more on the Technological Integration for ASL Bible Translation & Media through YouTube live-streaming provided by the church. We average about 30-40 views weekly from the church service using the PIP feature and new video equipment.
Vision & Focus for the Coming Year
An estimated 98% of Deaf people worldwide have never heard the Gospel. The recent growth reflects a commitment to make sure Deaf individuals can engage with faith on their own terms and in their own language for better understanding about Jesus Christ. We will continue to grow our interpreting team (both Deaf and hearing members) along with the addition of American Sign Language classes. We will aim to return our bi-weekly Bible Study class for Wednesday evenings for the first time since 2019.
