As Women's Discipleship Director I try to connect with every woman at TGP at some level, whether it is meeting for coffee, in a Bible Study, at Coffee Talk or merely learning their name and greeting them on a Sunday morning. The goal is always to connect them to someone that is already established at TGP with whom they have something in common, and move them toward a discipling relationship.
Ministry Highlights & Impact
At last year's Coffee Talk, 38 responded on comment cards that they had placed their faith in Jesus for salvation. All 38 were individually followed up by their TGP hostess and invited into a study and/or discipling relationship. Not all accepted the invitation but many did and are now coming to TGP regularly. Our MomCo steering Team has done an excellent job incorporating the MomCo Moms into the life of TGP. Moms often come to MomCo that have little or no church background. In the past MomCo was their only involvement. Now women that attend MomCo are encouraged to come to church on Sunday morning. They invite husbands to come and some become part of the life of TGP. At Christmas Coffee Talk 2025 we had 25 MomCo moms attend!
Growth & Development in this Ministry Area
There has been a greater emphasis on discipleship. At the end of the Spring Bible Study, attended by about 65 women, there was a challenge given to get involved in a small group study focused on discipleship. There were 14 small group studies started, ranging from 2-5 ladies in each study, focused on getting to know the Bible and discipleship. These studies continued through the summer and into early fall.
Vision & Focus for the Coming Year
As the leadership in Women’s Ministry changes, the focus will continue to be on discipleship. Whether choosing Bible study curriculum, activities or speakers, the focus should be on moving discipleship forward.
