In my new role of Executive Pastor, I have continued to equip disciples in our Young Adult ministry while also increasingly meeting the needs of our church family. I have gotten great joy in this transition from working with volunteers who sacrificially give of their time and energy to serve one another and meet the needs of our family and facilities. In particular, I hope we continue to grow as a church in these ways. With so many needs for volunteers, I pray that as people grow in being relationally committed, sacrificially minded, and missionally driven, we will continue to see people engaged in serving within the church and outside our walls!

Our purpose is to be disciples and equip disciples.

Through First Fridays and our Young Adults ministry, we have increasingly seen young adults take ownership of their walk with God and the impact they can have on their friends. If you want to see a tangible example of how this is equipping disciples, look no further than the rows of young adults in every Gathering! Weekly, we see more and more individuals inviting friends and bringing co-workers into a hearing of the Gospel.

Scripturally Rooted.

Relationally Committed.

Sacrificially Minded.

Missionally Driven.

While our Young Adults strives to exhibit every value and strengthen in each of them, this year has really exemplified our value of being Scripturally Rooted.

In every Young Adults gathering, and primarily in First Fridays, we consistently dig into God’s Word together. Most recently, we have worked through 1, 2, and 3 John together, studying the text deeply through teaching, personalizing the text through table discussions, and intentionally walking out the text in our community.

Further, our summer series in Proverbs was taught by young adult men within our group who have been equipped to teach the text.

Next year, we want to strengthen our value of being relationally committed and sacrificially minded — especially when it comes other volunteering and serving both within the church and outside our walls.

Life Change:

the result of being disciples and equipping disciples together

We have seen young adults come into our group and our church with new faith, then grow and develop into believers who are living on mission, digging into their relationship with God and into His Word, and seen the impact that has on their friends as well.

We have also seen young adults come into our group with lukewarm faith that has been reignited and re-engaged in much of the same ways. They are now growing and developing into believers who are living on mission, with a vital relationship with God, and increasingly growing in their understanding and application of Scripture.

Whether new to the faith, or shifting from spectator to become a true disciple, we’re proud of the change stories we are seeing in Young Adults!

What does engagement look like?

Our month gatherings for Young Adults are called First Fridays. They draw in visitors regularly and help young adults grow in their faith and identity.

Through our growing relationships with young adults, we engage in relational discipleship, Gospel Communities, and serve in many areas throughout the church.
